Workflow
How work moves from To do to Done, including Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.
Statuses
Every work item uses the same path. On the board, To do means the item is in view and not started.
- To do can move to In progress.
- In progress can move back to To do, or on to Review or Blocked.
- Review can return to In progress, or move to Blocked or Done.
- Blocked can return to In progress or Review, or move to Done. Entering Blocked requires a reason.
- Done can reopen to In progress, Review, or Blocked.
Definition of Ready
Moving to In progress checks Definition of Ready.
- Every item needs a clear description.
- A user story also needs acceptance criteria and story points.
- A Product Owner or Scrum Master can override the check with a rationale and an expiry date.
Definition of Done
Moving a user story to Done checks Definition of Done.
- Every acceptance criterion is satisfied.
- Child tasks and bugs are Done.
- The Product Owner has accepted the story.
- A Scrum Master can apply an emergency override.
