Releases

Group finished work for Development, UAT, or Production, then approve and release it.

What a release contains

A release groups work that should ship together. Product Owners and Scrum Masters can plan one. Give it a name, an environment, a target date, rollout notes, and a rollback plan.

  • Environments are Development, UAT, and Production. Environment can stay unset.
  • Statuses run Draft, In review, Approved, Released, Rejected, and Rolled back.
  • The Product Owner approves, releases, rejects, or rolls back. Planning roles can return a rejected release to draft.
  • Scope completion follows the work items attached to the release.

How to ship

  1. Create the release and choose the environment.
  2. Add the work items that are in scope. Remove any that slip.
  3. Submit it for review when the notes and rollback plan are ready.
  4. The Product Owner approves, then marks it released. A released item can later be marked rolled back.
