The board

The board shows in-flight work as cards you can filter, assign, and move.

What the board shows

The board is the working view of the project. Cards sit in To do, In progress, Review, Blocked, and Done. Drag a card when your role allows the move. The server still checks the workflow, Definition of Ready, and Definition of Done.

  • Scrum views include the current sprint, active work, unplanned work, work with no sprint, and completed work.
  • The board and its backlog list tasks, features, and bugs. Each backlog card shows its type. Epics and user stories are requirements and stay on the product backlog, including when someone was previously assigned.
  • Only tasks, features, and bugs can have an assignee. Epics and user stories cannot.
  • Kanban views include the active board, the backlog, and completed work.
  • Filter by assignee, including Unassigned.
  • A count of unplanned work appears when the project tracks it.

Starting work from the board

If the project requires a sprint before work can start, moving a card into progress asks you to add it to the sprint or mark it unplanned. Unplanned work asks for a reason, such as a production issue, urgent request, or support.

Platform Administrators can change methodology, sprint enforcement, unplanned tracking, and whether backlog items can be dragged onto the board. Those controls are the Agile configuration panel on this page.
